Neal Stephenson Neal is an American writer, known for his fiction works, which have been variously categorized science fiction, historical fiction, maximalism, cyberpunk, and postcyberpunk. Stephenson explores areas such as mathematics, cryptography, philosophy, currency, and the history of science. He also writes non-fiction articles about science, technology, and culture.  In the past he has worked part-time at Blue Origin, Intellectual Ventures Labs, and Subutai Corporation. He is currently Magic Leap's Chief Futurist. In June of this year, HarperCollins will publish THE RISE AND FALL OF D.O.D.O., a novel co-written by Stephenson and Nicole Galland. Various screen adaptations of his books are in the works including a film project based on his novel SEVENEVES, currently under development by Imagine Entertainment and Skydance Media. Caitlin Burns SW & Partners US As a transmedia producer for over 15 years, Ms. Burns has developed storyworlds and sustainable multiplatform strategies for franchises ranging from global blockbuster feature films, award-winning television shows, AAA console games and Virtual Reality. She also works with international brands, and organizations to use new media technologies to reach audiences and create impact. She currently serves as Vice Chair of the Producers Guild of America’s New Media Council.

Caitlin Burns
SW & Partners US

Isuru Fernando IBM’s leader on Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Computing in NZ. Globally, Isuru is a recognised thought leader and is in the top 0.1% of IBM’s talent. Isuru graduated from the University of Auckland where he spent most of his time geeking out and pushing the boundaries of theory and practice.  He then went on to co-found a successful start-up, he's a board member of the Association of Information Professionals Australia Chapter, and is part of the Embedded Systems and Robotics research group at the University of Auckland. Isuru Fernando
IBM’s leader on Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Computing in NZ.

Globally, Isuru is a recognised thought leader and is in the top 0.1% of IBM’s talent. Isuru graduated from the University of Auckland where he spent most of his time geeking out and pushing the boundaries of theory and practice. 

He then went on to co-found a successful start-up, he's a board member of the Association of Information Professionals Australia Chapter, and is part of the Embedded Systems and Robotics research group at the University of Auckland. Dr. Mark Billinghurst Professor of Human Computer Interaction Mark earned a PhD in 2002 from the University of Washington and is one of the most widely published researchers in Mixed and Augmented Reality. Roxane Gajadhar heads up the New Zealand Film Commission’s future-focussed GPS2026 programme.  She has worked in senior roles across both drama and factual screen production for two decades, and created interactive content for international exhibition (Lord of the Rings, World Expo). She holds a Masters’ degree in scriptwriting, and prior to her role at the NZFC spent five years overseeing international marketing and communications for Film New Zealand (now part of the NZFC).

 

Greg Broadmore Game Director, Writer, Artist Greg Broadmore is the Game Director for Weta Workshop and Magic Leap’s first collaborative foray into mixed reality gaming: Dr. Grordbort’s Invaders. The game, to be released on Magic Leap’s pioneering Lightfield™ technology, is based on Greg’s retro-science fiction world of Dr. Grordbort’s: a satirical send-up of interplanetary colonialism created by Greg during his time as a concept designer at Weta Workshop. Joining Magic Leap in 2012, Greg swapped his concept designer hat for that of Game Director. He led commercial and sales teams in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, enjoying a track record of generating sustainable value growth in every role. He has an MBA from the University of Sydney and wishes SHOPPER360 had been around when he was a GM.
